Yoga is widely known to help mitigate the stress and strain of our regular life, Iyengar yoga has taken the therapeutic value of yoga and expanded this art & science, tailoring various poses to aid and support specific conditions, most recently a broad spectrum of sporting activity. The neck and shoulders region is the most common problem area of the body; it’s where we tend to hold our tension and it’s where modern life tends to force us to most abuse our posture.
This Head Neck and Shoulders workshop will address postural, functional and connective tissue conditions and postural basics for sporting and repetitive activity of our favorite recreational pursuits. Yogic postures – asanas – can be practiced despite weakness, acute or chronic pain of this primary area of discomfort. Whether you’re a golfer, keen tennis addict or punish yourself doing laps in the pool, or if you simply have pain in the target area for this workshop, then you are welcome to join us.
